CTMH Wishes Card Challenge #13

Today I’ve got a jumbo card (5″ x 7″) based on the “Circle Collection” pattern from Wishes.

Materials:

  • Piece of Cake stamp set
  • Hollyhock, Smokey Plum and Crystal Blue cardstock
  • Bitty Sparkles
  • Bazzill Basics cardstock (card base)
  • Cricut “Storybook” cartridge (flower)
  • EK Success 2″ scallop circle punch
  • Copic markers – BV00, BV02, BV04, Y06, Y17, YG00, YG03, YG06, BG05

The original pattern is comprised of circles.  I decided to change it up a bit by using decorative die-cut circles.

And yes, I’m finally showing cards where I’ve used Copics!  I created this card when I first started using them.

I was really happy that the ink didn’t bleed outside of the lines, especially on the candles since they are so tiny.  The trick was allowing the ink to dry for about 30 seconds before blending in the next color.  Of course, your drying time may vary depending on the type of paper you’re using.  In this example, I was using Papertrey Ink cardstock.

I hope to show you more samples of Copic coloring on future cards.
