Ever wonder why June weddings are a big deal? My parents and in-laws were married in June. I originally wanted to get married in May, but ended up choosing a June date.
Turns out that the June wedding tradition dates back to the Romans. According to Wikipedia, “Juno is the patroness of marriage, and many people believe that the most favorable time to marry is June, the month named after the goddess.”
In honor of June weddings, I present this card from Wishes using the “Sun Dial” pattern.
Materials:
- Silhouette Level 2 paper packet
- Soul Mates stamp set
- Just Blooms Spring Blossoms paper flower
- Colonial White Designer Brads
- Designer Ribbon Rounds: Black Collection
- Black and Cranberry Exclusive Inks stamp pads
- Stickles (on the hearts)
Neat trick to note: I curved the “…and they lived happily ever after” stamp on my acrylic block to match the arc in the center of the card. CTMH stamps are cool like that.

i saw them up in the catalog. They’re a great idea since i don’t always get the lettering straight. But isn’t that part of the handmade charm?
And I say, perfect is overrated!
i like the bending the stamp trick! i don’t think i would have thought of it!
You can also use a Block Buddy. They are clings with grids that you place over your acrylic block to help you align letters and images. I didn’t use one in this case. I eyeballed it. Probably would’ve been straighter had I used the Block Buddy.
